The Connect to Work programme is a new, government-funded initiative led by the Department for Work and Pensions, designed to support individuals who are economically inactive, unemployed, or at risk of losing their jobs due to disabilities, long-term health conditions, or other complex barriers.
The aim is to help participants find and sustain good quality employment, with employer engagement and tailored support.
We can offer the following routes,
Individual Placement and Support (IPS) which is for eligible participants (both out of work and in work) and focuses on supporting participants into employment quickly using a place-and-train model, with ongoing personalised support to help sustain employment.
Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) is specifically designed for adults with learning disabilities or complex barriers to employment and provides structured supported employment offering intensive and tailored support into work.

Target audience
Who can join Connect to Work?
You may be eligible if you:
- Are aged 18 or over and live in England.
- Are not currently on another DWP-funded programme.
- Are unemployed, or employed but at risk of losing your job (after 3+ months in your role, excluding zero-hour contracts).
- Have a health condition or disability or face significant barriers to work.
We also welcome applications from:
- Carers and ex-carers.
- People with experience of the criminal justice system.
- Homeless individuals.
- Former members of the Armed Forces and their partners.
- People affected by substance dependency.
- Care leavers and care-experienced young people.
- Refugees and those on resettlement schemes.
- Survivors of domestic abuse or modern slavery.
- Young people at risk of serious violence.

Connect to Work gives you a dedicated Employment Specialist to guide you every step of the way. Support includes:
- A personalised action plan and vocational profiling.
- Access to a wide network of employers.
- Health-related interventions.
- CV and cover letter support.
- Interview preparation and mock interviews.
- Better-off in-work benefit calculations.
- Skills assessments via the National Careers Service.
- Travel planning.
- Ongoing in-work support and career development.

About Our Accommodation
Our service, in Dorchester, is located in a fully renovated Grade II listed building, finished to a high standard throughout. The property spans four floors, including a refurbished basement.
- Ground Floor: A spacious, comfortable communal kitchen and lounge and a fully equipped classroom with computers and a smart-screen TV.
- Basement: A comfy meeting room.
- First Floor: Four bedrooms, a kitchenette, and three shower rooms.
- Top Floor: Two bedrooms, one shower room, and a laundry room.
