In Swansea, Whitehead Ross Education Skills for Swansea team is delivering the Skills for Swansea programme in collaboration with Gower College Swansea and the City and County of Swansea.
This exciting initiative is designed to provide adults in the local area with access to high quality, employment focused training and qualifications.
The programme includes a range of courses tailored to the needs of local employers and job seekers:
- Health and Safety in a Construction Environment – Level 1
- ICT for Employment – Level 1
- Principles of Customer Service – Level 2
- Food Safety in Catering – Level 2
These courses are available to individuals aged 19 and over who live, work or both in Swansea, and they are completely free to eligible participants who are 19+. The goal is to support residents in gaining essential skills and qualifications to improve their employability and job prospects.
For those completing the Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course, there’s an opportunity to move forward and obtain their CSCS Green Card—a key qualification for those entering the construction industry.
The Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course is also available for those with additional learning needs and once a month this course is catered for ALN with practical exercises, more session breaks and the availability of fidget sensory toys.
Course delivery is from the Whitehead Ross Education offices in Swansea but Food Safety and Customer Service courses can be delivered in the community.
