Target audience

This programme is ideal for young people and adults who:

  • Are looking to develop employability skills and gain recognised City & Guilds qualifications

  • Need to improve Maths and/or English through Functional Skills

  • Would benefit from small group learning with a personalised approach

  • Require additional learning support or pastoral support to progress

  • Are unsure about their next steps and want help identifying career goals

  • Would like work experience tailored to their interests and aspirations

  • Thrive in a supportive, relaxed, and inclusive learning environment

The programme is particularly suited to individuals who may have faced barriers to education or employment and would benefit from holistic support to build confidence, skills, and independence.

Programme overview

The programme includes a balanced mix of qualifications, practical learning, and real-world experience to support progression into employment or further training.

Learners will complete:

  • Functional Skills in Maths and English
    Building essential skills for everyday life and the workplace, tailored to individual starting points and goals.

  • City & Guilds Employability Award
    Covering key areas such as:

    • CV writing and job applications

    • Interview skills and preparation

    • Workplace behaviours and expectations

    • Communication and teamwork skills

  • Work Experience Placement
    A supported placement aligned with individual career interests, helping learners gain confidence, practical skills, and real workplace experience.

In addition, learners receive personalised learning support, small group teaching, and ongoing pastoral support to help them stay motivated and achieve their goals.
